Thank Heaven for Little Girls!
Yesterday we celebrated Avery & Autumn's birthday. They were so excited when it worked out for Grandpa & Grandma Schlabach to come up on Saturday and bring their cousins Summer & Joya along to spend the night. Once again I was reminded just how different girls are then boys. It took them until midnight to stop all the talking and giggling and go to sleep. They were all up bright and early to get all dolled up for church. They all looked so pretty I had to take a photo. And of course, Avery & Autumn wore new earrings to church. It has been 6 weeks since they got their ears pierced.
We are a family of 14, consisting of Randy, Sheryl, TJ-28, Kesha-25, Josiah-20, Jensen-19, Jesse-19, Simon-18, Caleb-16, Elijah-15, Hannah-13, Reid-13, Avery & Autumn-11. Our family was brought together by God after the loss of Kristine Hoyt and Jeff Schlabach. TJ and wife Morgan live in McCordsville, IN and Kesha is living in Minneapolis, MN working and attending North Central University.
When Randy & I got married I had a dream to take the family to Disney World. I know to some that sounds like a silly dream. I have had opportunity to take my children several times and cherish the memories we made. In February 2007 my dream became a reality and our family had what I call the vacation of a lifetime. The kids were at the right age for all of them to really enjoy our trip, 7 - 16 years. To trade Iowa winter with below zero temperatures for warm, sunny 80 degree Florida made the trip even better. Not to mention that 7 of 10 children got to fly for the first time. We were blessed with an amazing time together as a family. The only bad part, Kesha wasn't able to join us because she was at college. I decided to fill some of the empty space along this side of my blog with some of my favorite pictures of our vacation.
Disney World
Our longest wait in line at Disney ~ 1 1/2 hours for this photo
